ShotSurged - October Report

Hi all, I'm sure everybody has noticed my lack of inactivity on shotsurged, I understand that there are a few people who share some great interest in this game so I would like to explain whats been happening behind the scenes and a few other things.

1. Whats happening with ShotSurged?

The games development is slow currently but it's still going, it's something I work on time to time and soon I plan to go back to full time on working on it. Most of the time has been going into polishing and fixing things, there are some aspects that look terrible that need fixing and as time goes on I find more things that require heavy polishing.

2. Graphics?

It's not our main focus, but yes since the last update the graphics have heavily improved, I don't want to share much on the game but below I have attached how the maps currently look, it is definitely an upgrade from 0.6-Early 0.7 but unfortunately good graphics like these mean some older PCs won't be able to handle the game anymore, rest in piece.

3. Why don't you show screenshots/videos of the game?

Things are always changing with the game, as I mentioned earlier I spend most of my time polishing things now since the update is practically ready with just a few more things that need to be added left alongside the polishing which is most of why we all aren't playing 0.7 yet. But as I was saying since things are always changing such as player models, music, etc, I don't want to share something from the game that just doesn't sit right with me yet, If I polish something up enough and believe it looks good then thats when I will share it, which is why below you will find a picture of how the main menu currently looks, of course though there is one unannounced thing that has been edited out from this picture so until it gets announced this is what you get to see :). Bare in mind that this might not be final but for now this is what we have.

4. Release Date/Platform Launch?

This thought has been constantly gnawing at me ever since development for 0.7 started, (small fact:0.7 was originally planned to launch on September 25th 2023). The issue with the release date is meeting a deadline, it's something that seems easy on paper but isn't during execution, I could say "I'll release on October 18th maybe" and then soon after find a new bug or something that needs polishing then have to take my word back on it and be back at square one with no release date. So no, I don't have a date for you unfortunately. But I can say that there's a chance we release sometime in December 2024-Early 2025. As for where we'll launch.. that will be revealed in due time.

5. Closing Out

So now that that's out of the way, I hope this explains the delays, the lack of material shown on the game, the inactivity, and whatever else. I've said it to my friends, this is a massive update full of content I'd even go as far to say that it revamps the game entirely(hence the "New Beginnings" tagline for 0.7). This is something new I plan to do time to time on the website(since it's collecting digital dust.. and also my money xD). Before I close out I'd just like to give future players one tip entering ShotSurged, don't expect the next AAA game. This is a passion project, not something I look to earn money from. I have took my time making sure this game is the most F2P game at launch(granted there will be things that require purchases in the future) but these are things that grant no advantage, you like how this character looks? You can buy them, if I didn't mention it before all characters have their own voicelines and personality. Soon you will be able to earn 2 brand new operators and more content for entirely free!

So, I hope these new images and me covering a few things will answer some of your questions and maybe even build some more hype! Stay tuned.
